Further, the military of the day was crisply objected to the idea of sending more troops in Iraq when the country crumbled into a violent turmoil after the fall of Saddam. A school of thought in the military circles conceived all these ills that a transformed US military can be effective in a war with a minimal figure of speech of ground troops.True, the modern American military can manage to win a stunning battlefield. Nevertheless, such an instantiations force is not sufficient to secure cessationa critical aspect of the outcome of a war. Clearly, the modern all-volunteer American military could not have sustained the demand of the number of forces required in Iraq and continue deterring the American nation from threats elsewhere in the world. Adding the number of standing soldiers in the forces may not have been a solution either. It is in view of this that the military draft should be adopted (MillitarySpot, Para 3). The underlying argument is that United States does not require a bigger standing army but rather a deep bench of well-trained soldiers who can be mobilized from their reserves to address the unpredictable but inescapable wars and other necessary humane interventions of the future. The adoption of the military draft could go a long way in ensuring that the limitations of a surge in capacity of the all-volunteer force do not hold the American society at a standstill when such a need arises. Indeed, history is clear that the American society has turned to the draft from time to time to offer an effective solution to the persistent issue of humanity crisis. While ideally it should not come in the shape of gentleman War II mass combat mobilization or the Vietnams discriminatory conscriptionbecause war advances as the nature of threats changethere is no doubt that a modern model of a draft is much-needed (Hod 9). Another argument in support of the military draft is evident from a project at the US military involvement in the past two decades. In these two decades, US has found it critical, in view of national protection issues, to deploy over half a million military personnel oversees. Each at a time,

Farid Ud-Din Attar. The Conference of the Birds Essay - 2

Farid Ud-Din Attar. The Conference of the Birds - Essay ExampleA good illustration of how the background of the story helps to clarify the meaning is shown in the case of when the hoopoo is telling the tale of a poor fisher boy whom King Masoud befriends. Later when the pouf upon casting the boys line successfully lands a sizeable catch, he then gives to the boy. The next day the king decides to make the boy a partner to his throneThe story is taken from a religious allegory and can be interpreted probability to be a fable regarding matinee idols grace. However once we put the story into its real context the allegory gains more prominence. The hoopoe had just been asked by a bird wherefore he is spiritually flourishing unlike the other birds that seem to be getting nowhere (Williams 49). The hoopoe explains that this is so because Solomon has glanced at him. The Hoopoe tells the birds that this glance is worth(predicate) far more than soliciter but continues to explain that th is does not mean that an individual does not need to pray, but rather one should continue to pray continuously until Solomon glances at him.In this story of the fisher boy, we see that the boy has been unceasingly fishing (in the same spot every day, which represents the spiritual fishing of unremitting prayer (Williams 51). According to the Hoopoes previous explanation, the kings visit is the glance of Solomon. This story is mostly demonstrative of individual effort and grace plus the naive realism that both ar indispensable for spiritual advancement (Davis, 8). The point of a tale may at times seem rather elusive at the first reading therefore, it is advisable to read it again or to refer to some previous text to remind you what the question being answered by the hoopoe is. This case with the stories resembles the story of the king and the fisher boy from which we got our excerpt.Throughout the poem, two themes in particular are intricately interwoven into the very fiber of the poem. These are the need to destroy the Self, and the weight

Reflection - Essay Example2). These points are the ones that appeal to me most from Siricos matter.I think the new concept highlighted in the publication is the fact that entrepreneurship is similar to other professions therefore, it is prudent to afford entrepreneurs with the same level of respect. Judging them based on stereotypes originating from biased, archaic religious perceptions does little to encourage those in the vocation to engage in ethical business practice. Positive consequences result from applauding the innovative, intuition-filled actions of entrepreneurs, as it affirms their ability to create something in spite of dire circumstances. In my opinion, if the cosmos regarded entrepreneurship as a vocation, there would be a limited need to use regulatory policies to coerce entrepreneurs to conform to business ethics principles. Ensuring ethical practices would draw second nature, as entrepreneurs would regard these practices as their inherent duty to the public.
